As many other countries Brazil have social issues, homeless people is one of them. But today I came across a really interesting project called The Street Store.
According to their Facebook Page it’s a “world’s first rent-free, premises-free, free ‘pop-up clothing store’ for the poor, found entirely on the street and curated by you” and it’s a really awesome thing. Basically, you can donate clothes, shoes and other vestments you no longer want or need, hang them on special places and homeless people are able to choose among them for them to wear. Just like they were in a conventional paid store, except that everything is for free!
It happens that this project just came to Manaus and it certainly deserves a lot of attention to reach as many people as possible. If you live here or is coming to, please check the project’s Facebook group in Manaus and help them out. If you live somewhere else, take a look at their official page and see if there’s any way for you to help. With tiny actions like this, together we can surely make a better world. 🙂
The first day of the event in Manaus is scheduled to happen on July 5th at Praça da Policia (Av. 7 de Setembro, S/N – Centro), starting 7 AM
